Can you imagine, it was in the same town that the van broke down in November last year while taking the Australian DTS to Ganta. But this time around we did not take anything for granted. While the vehicle was been repaired we join our hands together in prayer, remaining the devil of his defeat on Calvary and our victory over him in Christ Jesus. Though the five hour journey took us seven hours because of the breakdown, we did not have any breakdown after that prayer. By 9:20 local time we arrived in Ganta.
We spent our first full day yesterday prayer walking in Ganta. Ganta is a gateway city to and from Guinea and Ivory Coast, just at the border with Guinea. Nimba county is considered as the spiritual gateway to Liberia - with peoples of strong fetish powers and deeply entrenched in secret societies. With Ganta so close to Guinea (which is predominantly Muslim), Islam is gradually taking root again, especially in Ganta due to the migration of Muslim Fulani's and Mandingo's into Liberia seeking for business opportunities.
We will be here for three weeks working with churches doing evangelism through drama. We are also planning a one day youth conference before we leave for our two weeks outreach into Guinea.
Our stay here for this week has been very fruitful. We are reaching out in two communities: Woe and Gbesela (with strong fetish, witchcraft practice and secret society). From our two days of evangelism along with a local church planted there by Bethel World Outreach Ministries, 57 adults and youths give their lives to Christ. We will continue with house to house evangelism on Saturday and then climax the week with a church service on Sunday at the Bethel Church. The Bethel church was not allow to build any church building in Gbesela and so they moved to Woe Town just 5 mins walking from there. During our outreach in Gbesela yesterday 32 people give their lives to Christ. We also did some mercy ministry. So please continue to pray with us. Those communities need Jesus. We will be visiting the Ghetto today along with another church. Surely we bless the Lord for His move.
Our first two weeks in Monrovia was also wonderful. 157 people give their lives to Christ through the drama and one-on-one evangelism on the streets.
Well Beloved, we honestly need your prayer, for without which our efforts will count for nothing. Please also continue to join us in faith as we are still trusting God for financial provision, especially for our outreach in Guinea.
Thank you yah and God bless you o o.
